En esta tercera exposición del Teatrito
Rioplatense de Entidades (TRE) en Galería Mar Dulce se presenta una serie
de proyectos en los que participan Vicente Mario di Maggio, Juan Carlos Romero,
Agente Rayo, Gustavo Ibarra, Byron Hasky, Carlos Bernabei, Eduardo Tarrico y
Ral Veroni. Los trabajos exhibidos son obras literarias y piezas gráficas,
ambas combinadas.
La pieza protagónica de la exposición es El gran
mapa de la Cefaléutica de Buenos Aires, un imponente catastro de los
decapitados de la Capital Federal, es decir, calles cuyos nombres representan a
figuras históricas que terminaron su existencia con la cabeza separada del
tronco como son Avellaneda, Warnes, Padilla, Laprida, Cubas, Acha, Dorrego,
Lavalle entre tantos otros más. Lo que el TRE llama “la pulsión por la cabeza
trofeo” fue una costumbre habitual en el Río de la Plata durante el siglo XIX y
está inscripto en la toponímia de la ciudad. La investigación de Di Maggio
estará disponible en formato libro diseñado por Gustavo Ibarra, que se puede

Según di Maggio existe una línea fundacional entre
literatura nacional y degüello (El Matadero de Esteban Echeverría; Amalia
de José Mármol; la frase 'las ideas no se degüellan' de Sarmiento;
los poemas de Ascasubi, Almafuerte, Lugones y Borges; La cabeza de Goliat
de Martínez Estrada) que se continúa con los cinco títulos de La Saga del
Gaucho sin Cabeza escritos por el Agente Rayo con el arte de tapa de Byron
Hasky, también incluídos en la exposición.
Acompañan la exposición los afiches realizados en
tipos móviles por el artista Juan Carlos Romero sobre epigramas de Ral Veroni: RIOPLATINIZACIÓN
o BARBARIE y EL ARGENTINO TIENE SU ESTRELLA Y EL ABSURDO SU CONSTELACIÓN,
entre otros títulos.
Finalmente, se exponen dos volúmenes de Escenas
del Teatrito Rioplatense de Entidades con una lujosa encuadernación
realizada por Eduardo Tarrico, más una serie de fotografías de Buenos Aires
realizadas por Ral Veroni. El clima melancólico de estas imágenes y su temática
con representaciones de algunas entidades como el Destino, el Tiempo y el
Absurdo, personificaciones recurrentes en el Teatrito, acompañan en su contexto
al gran mapa de la ciudad.'
El Teatrito Rioplatense de Entidades es una plataforma de proyectos cuya finalidad es darle al universo un
marco de identidad localista. Fue fundado en 2006 por Ral Veroni y Vicente
Mario di Maggio, quienes coordinan los diferentes trabajos realizados desde la
poesía, el ensayo, la edición de libros, el diseño y el arte.
Galería Mar Dulce se especializa en obras de pequeño y mediano formato de pintura, dibujo,
grabado, fotografía, libros de artista y objetos, realizados por artistas
rioplatenses clásicos y contemporáneos. Junto a En unión y perplejidad
presentamos +COLECTIVA40, una curaduría de obras realizadas por Daniel
Santoro, Javier Velasco, María Luque, Daniel García, Miren Asiain Lora, Claudio
Pedraza, Carlos Masoch, Johanna Wilhelm, Juan Andereggen, Verónica García,
Decur, Loreley Flores, Sofía Wiñazki, Marta Vicente y Katherine Dossmann.

The third exhibition in Mar Dulce Gallery by the Little River Plate
Theatre of Entities - or TRE, by its Spanish acronym- presents a series of
projects combining both visual art and literature by Vicente Mario di Maggio,
Juan Carlos Romero, Agente Rayo, Gustavo Ibarra, Byron Hasky, Carlos Bernabei,
Eduardo Tarrico and Ral Veroni.
The focal point of the exhibition is the enormous map of the cephaleutica of Buenos Aires, an
imposing land registry of the decapitations of the city, or rather of the
streets named after historical figures who departed this earth with their heads
separated from their bodies: Avellaneda, Warnes, Padilla, Laprida, Cubas, Acha,
Dorrego, Lavalle and many more names
we recall more for their toponymy than their fate. The term cephaleutica, coined by di Maggio, has
its origins in the Greek κέφαλος, head and ευτικη,
to bring to light. The map depicts
in visual form the passion -commonplace in the 19th Century River Plate- for
the head as trophy. The project is brought together in a book, with design by
Gustavo Ibarra.
The exhibition also presents five novels from The Saga of the Headless Gaucho by Agente Rayo, with cover artwork
by Byron Hasky. This captivating saga originated in on the Little Theatre's
facebook wall in 2012 and since that time Agente Rayo has produced 2 books
every year. Part of Di Maggio's theory of the cephaleutica maintains that decapitation is a founding element in Argentine literature: from Esteban Echeverría's El
Matadero or José Mármol's novel Amalia
to Samiento's phrase "ideas
cannot be decapitated"; in frequent appearances through the poems of
Ascasubi, Almafuerte, Lugones and Borges and also in Martínez Estrada's essay The Head of Goliath. The novels of The Saga continue in this tradition.
As on previous occasions, selected works are exhibited from the Little
Theatre's series of limited edition wood type prints by Juan Carlos Romero with
phrases by Ral Veroni. Particularly applicable to the context of this
exhibition are RIOPLATINIZATION or BARBARITY and the most recent production:
THE ARGENTINE HAS ITS STAR AND ABSURDITY IS ITS CONSTELLATION.
A passion for fine editions leads to the inclusion of two volumes from Scenes in the Little River Plate Theatre of
Entities, luxuriously bound and presented by Eduardo Tarrico.
Finally a series of photographs from the series Buenos Aires by Ral Veroni is presented. The melancholy climate of
the images and their representation of entities such as Destiny, Time and
Absurdity -recurring characters in the Little Theatre- seem fitting to
accompany the great map of the city.
Little River Plate
Theatre of Entities (TRE) is a platform of projects with the common
aim of presenting the local River Plate identity to the universe. The Little
Theatre was founded in 2006 by Ral Veroni and Vicente Mario di Maggio, who
together coordinate the project's publication of poetry, essays and literature
as well as visual art and design.
Galería Mar Dulce specialises in small and medium format
artwork in painting, drawing, print, photography, artists’ books and objects,
produced by classic and contemporary Argentine artists. To accompany In Union and Perplexity we present +COLLECTIVE40, a
