Ars ínfima de Silvia Flichman & Eduardo del Estal

La exposición Ars ínfima presenta pinturas de Silvia Flichman acompañadas de poemas, textos y pequeños objetos realizados por Eduardo del Estal. En los cuadros de Flichman la línea, las pinceladas y las sucesivas capas de collages se combinan para formar imágenes que se arrebujan y desenmarañan frente a nuestros ojos. Paisajes, figuras y animales imaginarios emergen por un momento entre la rica superficie de la tela para volver a desaparecer en su juego de niveles de textura y color. Fragmentos de libros, textos escritos a máquina y manuscritos nos tientan a su vez con sus insinuaciones y sin embargo permanecen tan evasivos como los levitantes protagonistas de estas telas. Para el artista y poeta Eduardo del Estal el misterio de la pintura de Flichman es la materia prima de una Obra hermética cuyas claves, sellos y arcanos componen el texto de un imaginario Tratado Alquímico donde el iniciado encontrará una guía para condensar la Forma Primera y destilar el sutil Espíritu Aureo que brilla en la Luz, fuente y origen del Arte y secreto destino de la creación. La exposición se complementa con una serie de pequeños objetos –suerte de máquinas oníricas- realizados por del Estal.

Silvia Flichman nació en Buenos Aires en 1959. Estudió pintura con Roberto Mackintosh, Juan Eischler, Ana Tarsia y Roberto Aizemberg en La Cárcova, collage con Víctor Chab y análisis de obra con Luis Felipe Noé. Exposiciones individuales (selección): CC Recoleta (1991, 2001), Museo E Sívori (2003), Arte Comprimido, Thames (2008 y 2009), Arte y Parte, Biblioteca del Senado de La Nacion y Arteff. Muestras colectivas: en Argentina (DN de Museos, Decastelli, Escarlata, Palleros, Ministerio de Justicia y DDHH, CCBorges, CCRecoleta, Abasto Estudio Abierto, SAAP, simposios y Salones Nacional y Municipal, entre otras); Uruguay (Pirlápolis, Punta del Este y José Ignacio); Panamá; Brasil (Galería Multipla SP); USA (Watergate Gallery); España (Clínica Buchinger de Marbella); Holanda (Amsterdam Gallery y Hetty Van Der Linden). Actualmente trabaja como docente de arte en su taller y también en la Asociación Amigos del Museo de Bellas Artes.
Eduardo del Estal nació en Buenos Aires en 1954. Licenciado en Filosofía en la UBA y pintor autodidacta, actualmente es poeta, pintor, ensayista y asesor editorial de la revista Experimenta. Desde 1986 realizó muestras individuales y colectivas en Argentina, Brasil, EEUU, Europa y Japón. Algunas de sus pinturas son patrimonio del Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, Museo de Arte de Bilbao, Fundación Mishima y colecciones privadas de Argentina, Brasil, España, EEUU, Holanda, Italia y Suiza. Su obra escrita recibió varios premios, entre ellos: Premio Nacional de Ensayo 2004 (Argentina); Premio de Ensayo 2003 (FNA, Argentina); Premio de Poesía “Colegio del Rey” 2002 (España). A partir del 2010 la Editorial Atuel (BsAs-Bilbao) inició la publicación de su escritos teóricos completos: Tomo I “Historia de la Mirada” 2010 y Tomo II “Crítica de la Razón Óptica” (en prensa). Vive y trabaja en Buenos Aires.
Galería Mar Dulce se especializa en obras de pequeño y mediano formato de pintura, dibujo, grabado, fotografía, libros de artista y objetos, realizados por artistas rioplatenses clásicos y contemporáneos. Junto a la exposición Ars ínfima presentamos +COLECTIVA10, una selección de obras realizadas por Margarita Ezcurra, Víctor Rebuffo, Mercedes Dutto, Alfredo Benavidez Bedoya, Ral Veroni, María Elina Méndez, Martín Eito, Rita Bamidele Hampton, Ivan Freisztav, Nadia Gurevich, Raoul Veroni, Lola Goldstein, Cristian Turdera, Brenda Silveira y Tulio Carella, entre otros.

The exhibition Ars ínfima presents paintings by Silvia Flichman, accompanied by poems, texts and objects by Eduardo del Estal. In Flichman’s canvases, collaged layers, line and brushstroke build up to form rich, sensorial and intricate images that entangle and disentangle themselves before our eyes, creating flickering landscapes, animals and figures. An eye peeks out from behind a mask or the form of an animal begins to emerge, but just as quickly disappears again into the richly textiled undergrowth which is both foreground and background. Fragments of books, typed and handwritten texts also tempt us with their hints at meaning but remain as elusive as the figures. The texts of author and artist Eduardo del Estal provide a literary parallel to Flichman’s visual poetry. They reflect on the nature of art, from source and beginning to destiny or destination. The exhibition is completed by a selection of small artworks -“ars ínfima”- by the hand of del Estal.
Silvia Flichman was born in Buenos Aires in 1959. She studied painting with Roberto Mackintosh, Juan Eischler, Ana Tarsia and Roberto Aizemberg in La Cárcova art school, collage with Víctor Chab and analysis of work with Luis Felipe Noé. Selected solo exhibitions: Recoleta Cultural Centre (1991, 2001), E Sívori Museum (2003), Arte Comprimido, Thames (2008 y 2009), Arte y Parte, National Senate Library and Arteff. Selected group exhibitions: in Argentina, National Museums, Decastelli, Escarlata, Palleros, Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Borges CC, Recoleta CC, Abasto Estudio Abierto, SAAP, national and municipal salons; Uruguay, Pirlápolis, Punta del Este and José Ignacio; Panamá; Brazil, Galería Multipla San Paolo; USA, Watergate Gallery; Spain, Marbella Clínica Buchinger; Holland, Amsterdam Gallery and Hetty Van Der Linden. She currently teaches art in her studio and also for the Friends Association of the National Fine Art Museum.
Eduardo del Estal was born in Buenos Aires in 1954. He graduated in Philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires and is a poet, writer, editorial assessor (Experimenta magazine) and self-taught painter. Since 1986 he has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Argentina, Brazil, the USA, Europe and Japan. His artworks are included in the collections of the Buenos Aires Modern Art Museum, Bilbao Art Museum, Mishima Foundation and private collections in Argentina, Brazil, Spain, the USA, Holland, Italy and Switzerland. His written work has received various accolades, including: Argentine National Essay Prize 2004; Argentine National Art Fund Prize 2003; “Colegio del Rey” Poetry Prize 2002 (Spain). In 2010 the publishers Atuel (Buenos Aires-Bilbao) began to publish his complete theoretical writings: Volume I “Historia de la Mirada” 2010 and Volume II “Crítica de la Razón Óptica” (soon to be published). He lives and works in Buenos Aires.
